You Are A Badass was basically the first “self-help” book I purchased.
I realize I may be a little behind here with this book. In my defense though I did purchase it a couple of years ago. I just now got around to reading it. No doubt, you’ve seen numerous great reviews on this book and I’m here to just attest to those reviews. The lessons in this book were amazing and motivating, to say the least.
So let’s get to it…
Favorite Quotes – You Are A Badass
“We’re all attracting energy to ourselves all the time whether we realize it or not. And when we’re vibrating at a low frequency (feeling pessimistic, needy, victimized, jealous, shameful, worried, convinced we are ugly) yet expect high frequency, awesome thing and experiences to come into our lives, we are often disappointed.”
“The Universe will match whatever vibration you put out. And you can’t fool The Universe”
“When you learn to consciously master the energetic realm, believe in the not yet seen, and stay in your highest frequency, you harness your innate power to create the reality you desire.”
Okay, so I wanted to group these three together because this is something I’ve really been into lately. I think it is completely true. I first heard this whole theory on The Lively Show and then on the Life Coach School Podcast and now here (I also think it’s mentioned in Big Magic).
The first quote is a great reminder to have on hand when you feel down or are in a funk. Once I remember that the energy we put out effects everything else, I quickly find a way to snap out of the funk. I am looking forward to really diving into this theory more and continuing to practice it.
“Whatever happens, stay the course, because there’s nothing cooler than watching your entire reality shift into one that is the perfect expression of you”
“Keep your thoughts directed at your goal, do everything that you DO know how to do to make it happen, decide with unwavering determination that it will happen, and be on the lookout for the opportunity”
These two quotes just excite me. I’m not really someone who gives up too easily. It may take me a bit longer than others, but I do strongly believe that giving up is never the answer. I believe that it will all pay off one day.
“If we really love ourselves, everything in our life works” – Louise Hay
This. Just this. It’s the quote at the beginning of Chapter 6. A must read.
“What other people think about you has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them”
There had been some events in my life towards the end of last year and this quote has been what I repeat to myself when I start to thing about the said event. It’s so easy to blame yourself and overthink a situation. At the end of the day, if someone doesn’t like you, it probably has more to do with them than with you. And I like that idea.
“Our fantasies are our realities in an excuse-free world”
I just like this idea. When you really think about it, it is soooo damn true.
“When we trust that we live in an abundant universe and allow ourselves to give freely, we raise our frequency, strengthen our faith and feel awesome, thereby putting ourselves in flow and the position to receive abundant amounts in return”
This quote kind of goes a long with the same concept as the first three. What we put out is what we get in return. To practice this, Jen Sincero, recommends picking one or two causes and giving to them every month. It can be time or money, but to do it consistently.
“It’s important to look for ways to be grateful for all the that you’ve manifested, even things that you might label under “No, thanks.” …If you instead look for ways to be grateful for everything in your life, it not only raises your frequency, but it allows you to grow by opening up to the lesson”
Practicing gratitude is something I’m very focused on this year. I’ve had to really try and be grateful for some things in my life that aren’t necessarily perfect. In doing so though, I’ve noticed a huge change in my attitude towards those specific things. Needless to say, I believe this 10X over.
“In order to change your life and start living a new one that you’ve never lived before, your faith in miracles, and yourself, must be greater than your fear. However easy or rough your birth process is, you have to be willing to fall down, get up, look stupid, cry, laugh, make a mess, clean it up and not stop until you get there. No matter what”
That quote right there excites me. It gives me faith in the process of everything I am working towards.
K. That was a long one.
I’ve always loved saving quotes and thought this would be a great way to do so. Plus I hope it inspires and motivates you when reading them as much as it did me!
