The Importance of a Morning Routine

I’ve always considered my self more of a morning person than a night owl. I mean, listen, I’m not the most cheerful person in the morning, but I much prefer waking up early and starting my day than staying up late.

I loooove the silence of an early morning. The first sip of coffee. Just the calmness of it all.

While I’ve never really had a morning routine per say, I fully believe in and understand the importance of them. It’s something I will be working diligently on this year. I fully trust that how we start our day sets the tone for how the rest of our day will go.

MY CURRENT ROUTINE:

4:40am – wake up

5:00am – 6:00am – gym

6:10am – 6:30am – coffee, news, breakfast

6:30am – 6:50am – get ready for work

7:00am – work

It’s rushed and the only thing productive about it is the gym. At this point in my life, I just don’t have the leisure to be doing all of what I want to do in the mornings. As much as I love an early morning, 4:40am is already pretty damn early.

However, as I said above, I fully believe in the importance of a morning routine and I am determined to make mine more productive.

There are three main things I would love to add to my morning routine:

Meditate | Practice Gratitude | Set My Intentions for the Day

Ideally, I would love for my mornings to read like this:

IDEAL MORNING ROUTINE:

  • wake-up
  • meditate
  • gym
  • coffee
  • journal – set my intentions for the day
  • practice gratitude
  • breakfast
  • get inspired

It’s a matter of figuring out how to manage my time better, but I’m determined to figure it out this year and I’m excited for when I do. morning routine, productive morning routine, importance of a morning routine, black bathrobe, how to wake up early, how to set a morning routine, productive morning, morning rituals

my morning routine is keeping the puppy from aggravating her older brother before he is ready to be awake. LOL!
In between that, I sip black coffee and try to pray & read my devotional before every one else gets up.
These photos are so fabulous. You look so radiant & glowy even with a towel on your head! Such a great post, Shannon! love it.

Haha…our dogs seem to be up alllll night and then decide to sleep once we wake. Annoying, but I love them to death 🙂 Thank you, as always, Gina!

I can’t believe you get up at 4:40 AM!!! I would die. I would also have to go to sleep the minute I got home from work. I am really not a morning person. I have a routine, but it isn’t like a calm happy routine. I get up, let the dogs out and then feed them, get ready for work, run the vacuum, go to work.

Lol! I mean trust me, I know 4:40am is early, but if I don’t do it, I’d NEVER work out. The fact that you run the vacuum in the AM is more impressive to me than waking up early! Ha. You’ll never find me doing that 🙂
