Morning routines. Do you have one?
I’ve always considered my self more of a morning person than a night owl. I mean, listen, I’m not the most cheerful person in the morning, but I much prefer waking up early and starting my day than staying up late.
I loooove the silence of an early morning. The first sip of coffee. Just the calmness of it all.
While I’ve never really had a morning routine per say, I fully believe in and understand the importance of them. It’s something I will be working diligently on this year. I fully trust that how we start our day sets the tone for how the rest of our day will go.
MY CURRENT ROUTINE:
4:40am – wake up
5:00am – 6:00am – gym
6:10am – 6:30am – coffee, news, breakfast
6:30am – 6:50am – get ready for work
7:00am – work
It’s rushed and the only thing productive about it is the gym. At this point in my life, I just don’t have the leisure to be doing all of what I want to do in the mornings. As much as I love an early morning, 4:40am is already pretty damn early.
However, as I said above, I fully believe in the importance of a morning routine and I am determined to make mine more productive.
There are three main things I would love to add to my morning routine:
Meditate | Practice Gratitude | Set My Intentions for the Day
I’ve been trying to work these three things into my daily routine, more so than my morning routine, but I’m certain it would be much more beneficial to start my day with these. Ideally, I would love for my mornings to read like this:
IDEAL MORNING ROUTINE:
- journal – set my intentions for the day
- practice gratitude
- get inspired
It’s a matter of figuring out how to manage my time better, but I’m determined to figure it out this year and I’m excited for when I do.
