Can we talk acne for a hot minute?
If there is a struggle I know about it, it is definitely acne.
Adult acne is so real and it is brutal. Like really brutal, guys. I didn’t develop acne until I was about 20 years old and you know how people say “oh you’ll outgrow it”? Well you won’t. At least I didn’t.
It’s been about 10 years now and it wasn’t until August of last year that I finally got it under control…with the help of medication. Age has nothing to do with it. Trust.
However, even with the medication, I’m not free of the occasional acne breakouts, so having an acne based regimen is still super important to me.
So today, in collaboration with Zapzyt, I wanted to share my routine for fighting those acne breakouts that still manage to make an appearance.
I’m one of those people who removes their makeup every.single.night. No matter what. Having a salicylic based cleanser, like the Zapzyt Acne Cleanser Wash, that is designed to target and treat acne is an absolute must. It’s an oil-free and alcohol free cleanser that cleans deep to unclog pores and help eliminate acne.
A lot of cleansers can be drying, but I haven’t noticed that with this one, which is a major bonus in my book.
Once I know my skin is clean and make-up free I use a spot treatment, specifically a maximum strength 10% benzoyl peroxide spot treatment, on any spots that seemed to have appeared. I’ve had great luck with the Zapzyt Acne Treatment Gel as of late and it will definitely be sticking around in my regimen.
Another must for me is exfoliation. I exfoliate every other morning to help with the skin cell turnover and ridding myself of blackheads. However I never want to use anything too harsh. I am loving the gentleness of the Zapzyt Pore Cleansing Scrub. It has tiny, natural, wax microbeads that help to clear the pores of blackheads and remove dead skin cells. My skin always feels clean and fresh after using it.
Plus a New Addition I’m Obsessed With:
One product that I was not aware of, but seriously fell in love with was the Zapzyt Pore Treatment Gel. It’s a great product that helps to reduce the bacteria that causes breakout, but at the same time helps to soothe and hydrate the skin. Another product that will forever be in my regimen.
What do you do to help prevent and fight off acne breakouts? I would love to know all tips and tricks you have!
