Happy New Year Friends!

A little life update…

eating…healthy 🙂 attempting to at least. My sisters and one of my girlfriends are giving the Whole 30 a go. I’m pretty excited about it, but two days in and my sugar cravings are out of control. Going to stay strong though! Have any of you girls done this? Any advice would be much appreciated!

drinking…lots and lots of tea. I used to drink black tea all the time, but coffee quickly replaced it. When we were in Vegas my sister brought me up a hot black tea when I wasn’t feeling well and I haven’t been able to stop drinking it. I’ve pretty much eliminated the coffee.

watching…Gilmore Girls. I was never an avid Gilmore Girls viewer, but would always watch if it was on when I happened to be channel surfing, so I wasn’t in a huge rush to watch the Netflix special. I’ve watched two of the episodes and I actually think it is really cute. I didn’t catch any reviews of it (that I can remember), but I’ll definitely be finishing the other two episodes.

going…no where exciting at the moment. Just coming back from the holidays and trying to get back into the routine of everyday life. I certainly wouldn’t mind having a trip on the back burner to look forward to.

reading…A Dog’s Purpose. A friend recommended it and it is actually a very cute book. I’m not too far in, but I definitely have plans to finish it up shortly. And I saw yesterday (a million times) that a movie based on the book is coming out this year…looks cute, but I’m hoping the previews aren’t ruining too much of the book for me.

loving…the movie La La Land. Have you girls seen it? My mom and I went last week when I was back in Michigan and it was such a good movie! So cute and the singing and dancing is absolutely perfect. I highly recommend you see it if you get a chance. I’m dying to go see it again.

working…on being consistent. One of my major goals for this year is to be consistent because as I’ve mentioned before I have tendency to just stop when I feel over whelmed, so I want to keep to a schedule and continue to push through and get things done.

listening…nothing too interesting. I need to really start listening to music more often so I have something to talk about here. I’ll work on that 😉

buying…not.a.thing. Still recovering from all of the Christmas shopping and what not. I need a break. As does my bank account.

planning…hopefully something fun for Brandon’s birthday coming up in a few weeks. I need to get on that and hopefully come up with something exciting and worth while.

wondering…this one always gets me because I start to wonder what I’m wondering about and then I come up with nothing. I’m just going to say I’m wondering about whether or not this year is going to go as planned. I have high hopes, so here’s hoping it does!

feeling…excited and motivated. I’m sure it’s just all this New Year hype, but it is refreshing knowing that it’s another chance to start off with a clean slate and hopefully get more done this time.

I keep hearing so many wonderful things about La la land. I cannot wait to see it! That photo up top of you and your husband is precious! Happy New year and I hope the year 2017 is good to you, friend. (:

I love these taking stock/currently types of posts and yours totally has me wanting to read Dog's Purpose and see LaLaLand – was it really that good?! The previews made it seem sort of trippy, but now I'm kind of intrigued! I so hear you on getting back into the routine after the holidays. It feels good, but it's like a mixture of feeling motivated and feeling like you want to go back to days enjoying a hot drink on the couch doing nothing at all. Consistency! There are so many benefits to keeping various areas consistent – I'm with you!

I've been on an earl grey tea kick. It's such a cozy drink and a nice reprieve from coffee.
