Neutral looks are my absolute favorite.

In Monday’s post I talked about how it is always nice to have a piece (like this polka dot dress) that is fun and a bit different from the rest of your wardrobe.

One-shoulder, polka dot dresses are far from a closet staple, at least for me. I much prefer to keep things simple and more streamlined. Sure, every know and then I veer off course and purchase a fun piece, but for the most part it’s all neutrals for me.

A completely neutral outfit is always a go-to for me and there are some specific reasons for that…

  1. A neutral outfit always looks put together and chic. It’s hard to mess-up a neutral outfit. Neutrals match each other and can always be mixed. You don’t have to worry about mixing prints or whether or not the colors match. A neutral outfit makes it easy to look chic.
  2. An expensive look is easily created when styling all neutrals. And the best part is, is that you don’t necessarily have to spend a lot. Neutral outfits tend to appear more expensive because it’s a classic look rather than a mix of trends.
  3. It’s easy! The best part of a neutral outfit is the simplicity of it all. When you have a god selection of neutrals in your wardrobe you can easily mix and match. You will have plenty of go-to looks that you know work. You don’t have to think about it nearly as much.

For me, a neutral outfit will always be a go-to. I’m certainly not opposed to having the fun pieces or the trendier pieces, but when you have plenty of neutrals, you’ll always look chic.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

I so agree! Every time I purge my closet I find that I keep all the neutrals and tend to give away/sell bold prints and really crazy colors. Not only are they harder to wear, but I just get tired of them!

Yes, exactly! I feel like there is only so many times you can wear bold color and bold prints. Having a wardrobe of neutrals is much more ideal for me.
