Our trip to New York City was a quick one.

Basically we were only there a day and a half, but we still managed to to do a lot! It was also disgustingly hot, like 96 degrees hot. So gross, but it didn’t stop us.

Neither of the boys had been to NYC so we wanted to make sure they got to see a bit of everything. Not sure they were entirely thrilled about this 🙂

On Sunday, after a quick change at the hotel, we headed to get brunch at Jack’s Wife Freda. I was super excited about this because everyones always posting about it on Instagram. We did have to wait 45 minutes in the heat before being seated, which was rough. But I thought the food was delicious and the place was adorable.

After lunch we decided to walk through China Town on our way to the 9/11 Memorial. We stopped at this little ice cream place called Eggloo. It was the perfect treat for the hot weather and the ice cream is incredibly IG worthy.

We spent some time at the 9/11 Memorial and then headed into a bar to grab a quick drink. The bartender gave us this photo album filled with pictures and newspaper clippings from 9/11. It was pretty surreal to look at, but being in a place that was directly effected that day was very eyeopening.

Sunday ended with a ferry ride around the Statue of Liberty and slice of pizza on our walk home.

Now Monday was a the marathon day. According to our iPhones we managed to walk a good 12 miles….in 96 degree heat. It wasn’t pretty, but it was worth it.

We started at the High Line and walked that down to the Chelsea Market where we enjoyed some oysters and a bit of shopping. After that we headed to see Carrie Bradshaw’s house (which the boys were super excited for) and then to lunch at a Michigan themed bar (kind of) called The Grey Dog. We ventured around Greenwich for a bit and then headed to Washington Square Park.

Quick stop at the hotel and then back at it. We explored the Library, Time Square, Rockefeller Center and finally St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Sunday ended with a little walk around Central Park, after a failed attempt at Harlem and we were in bed by 11.

And that was our short, but long trip to New York City 🙂
