Cape Cod Photo Diary

Cape Cod, Where to stay in Provincetown, where to stay in cape cod, where to eat in cape cod, what to do in provincetown, best places to eat in provincetown, cape cod beach, provincetown beach

We did a little East Coast trip a couple of weeks ago…Cape Cod was our second stop of the trip.

During our stay in Cape Cod, we stayed in Provincetown. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after the two busy and hot days we had in New York City (see my photo diary for NYC). This was our first time in Cape Cod and my gosh do I wish I could have spent the entire summer there. Provincetown is this perfect little beach town where the main strip is lined with beautiful homes and the cutest little shops/restaurants/bars.

Where We Stayed

Upon arriving on Tuesday, we checked into Salt House Inn. This was quite possibly the best place I have ever stayed while traveling.  It was right off the main strip, the rooms were tiny and minimally decorated to perfection, but the best part about this place was the breakfast, made fresh every morning and absolutely delicious. It was a perfect way to start the mornings while we were in Cape Cod.

What We Did

The first restaurant we ate at was called Canteen. It was by far the best food we ate the entire trip. I also tried my first Frosè there, which was delicious. Actually wishing I had one now 🙂 After that we walked the beach for a bit and ended up a bar overlooking the beach. We were only two drinks in when it started to rain, so we headed to a little dive bar…where we spent the rest of the night. Lets just say Wednesday morning was not pleasant.

Wednesday we headed to the beach. It was a bit chilly so we just hung out for a few and then headed back into town to do some exploring. We basically just walked up and down the mainstrip hitting up Lobster Pot for some clam chowder and the Squealing Pig for some amazing oysters. Since we had a long night Tuesday night we ended up just spending Wednesday night on the porch of our hotel hanging out and chatting. Our friends we went with live in Michigan, so it was kind of nice just getting to sit and hang out with them.

Thursday morning we packed up and headed to Boston…

These photos though!! I live super close to the Cape and avoid it like the plague because the traffic is always so bad, but I really should take advantage of it! Need to check out this hotel.

haha! I don’t blame you, traffic is the worst! But I am a little jealous you live so close. And yes, definitely check at Salt House Inn, it is so cute!

OMG! You were so close to me. I wish I could have met up with you, Shannon. These photos are so gorgeous! My fave is the one with you in your cut offs and sweatshirt on the beach. The epitome of effortless perfection which is my passion;)
Provincetown is a very interesting place. Super fun and unique for sure. The perfect place to sit outside and sip a martini. Oh and everyone has their doggies with them and everybody loves doggies there. Can’t beat that, right!
    XO!

I actually thought about reaching out to you prior to our trip, but once we planned everything, it was such a rushed trip that there wasn’t enough time. Someday though we HAVE to! Provincetown is definitely unique, but so fun! And you are right, the dogs are everywhere. We sat at a bar on Wednesday night and just talked about all the dogs 🙂

Looks like a great place to visit! I have been to NYC but that is the extent of my Northeast travels. I would love to do some traveling up and down the coast some day.

NYC was all I had seen too prior to this trip, so I was super excited to get to see a little more. Would definitely love to see more of that coast though!
